Accounts & subscriptions

Check your account and configuration first, then troubleshoot subscription updates and device changes.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How is my account information stored?

No email address is required—just a username and password. Choose a username you can recognize and a password you don't use on other sites, then save your login details in a trusted password manager. Since no email address is required, don't assume you can recover your account by email. If you forget your password or notice an account issue, first check the options in the dashboard. If you can still log in, contact support through a ticket. Never share your password or post your full subscription link as an account identifier.

Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I refresh the server list?

Sign in to the user dashboard and look for the subscription options in your account overview. Copy the subscription or import it into your client as prompted. If you already have a subscription profile, find its update option in the client, then check the update result and server list. Switching your current server does not update the subscription. If an update fails, check your plan status and internet connection, then make sure the copied content is complete. Avoid repeatedly creating profiles with the same name, as you might end up using an older one. Subscription contents may change; refer to the dashboard and the refreshed list for currently available servers.

Do I need to choose a new plan when changing devices or using multiple devices at once?

VPNNeed has no limit on the number of devices connected at the same time, so changing devices alone doesn't require a new plan. Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux are supported. Sign in to the user dashboard on your new device, open the client download section, and import the subscription using the instructions for your platform. Each device needs its own setup; a connection on your old device won't automatically configure the new one. Keep an eye on your account's data usage when using multiple devices—unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data. Remove saved subscription details from any device you stop using.

What should I do if I accidentally share my subscription link in a group chat or on a public page?

Treat your subscription link like account access information. Don't share it in group chats, public screenshots, or code repositories. If you share it by mistake, remove the public post first, then check the user dashboard for an option to reset or replace the subscription. If there isn't one, contact support through a ticket. After the link changes, update it on every device; refreshing a profile that still contains the old link won't be enough. When sharing screenshots, hide the full link and any sensitive account or payment details, leaving only the error message and steps needed for troubleshooting.

Connections & troubleshooting

Check your internet connection, account status, client setup, and target app—in that order. Avoid changing everything at once.

The client says it's connected, but webpages won't load. What should I check first?

A connected status only means the client has established a connection; it doesn't confirm that requests to websites are succeeding. Disconnect the proxy first and check that your regular internet connection can reach everyday sites, then check your plan and data status in the dashboard. Next, verify the subscription profile in use, selected server, and system proxy settings. Try different destinations to see how widespread the issue is. If only one site fails, check its account requirements, regional rules, and service status. If several destinations fail, try another server rather than assuming every issue is caused by the route.

Why does a particular app fail to use the proxy when my browser works?

Apps may connect to the internet in different ways, so a working browser doesn't mean other apps will automatically use the system proxy. Check the client's proxy mode, routing rules, and app exclusions to make sure the app isn't set to connect directly. If the app doesn't use the system proxy, see whether the client offers a suitable tunnel mode and review its permission requirements. Enable it as instructed, restart the app, and test again. Use only one proxy tool while troubleshooting to avoid tools changing each other's settings. If your work device is managed by your organization, check its usage policies first.

How can I tell why a subscription import or update failed?

First determine whether the error occurred while fetching the subscription or while the client was parsing the configuration. If fetching fails, check your internet connection, plan status, and link integrity. Make sure you haven't used the login page URL instead of the subscription URL. If the content downloads but parsing fails, check that the import format is supported by your client and use the matching option in the dashboard where available. Keep the exact error message and review the setup steps in the guides. If you still can't resolve it, open a support ticket with your platform, client name, error message, and troubleshooting steps. Don't include a full subscription link that can be used to access your account.

Do I need to reinstall the client if I disconnect after switching networks or waking my device from sleep?

Usually, check the connection before reinstalling the client. Switching networks or waking from sleep can interrupt an existing connection. Make sure your internet is back, then disconnect and reconnect to the current server in the client. Check whether the system proxy still points to a client that has been closed, and whether background permissions or power-saving settings are affecting the app. If the issue only happens on a particular network, note the network and error message, then compare with another network. Reinstalling means setting up the subscription and restoring preferences again, so consider it only if the configuration is damaged or support recommends it.

Speed & routes

Compare routes using real-world tasks. Consider the region, route type, and destination service together.

How can I compare routes to troubleshoot slowdowns during peak hours?

Keep the destination website and device the same, and pause downloads, cloud sync, or other tasks that may use bandwidth. Then compare your current route with others. Try different route types in the same region first, then compare other regions suited to your needs, changing as few variables as possible. IEPL dedicated routes, relay routes, and direct routes take different paths, but their names don't guarantee uninterrupted service. If all routes are slow, check your local Wi-Fi and internet connection. When reporting an issue, include when it happened, your region, route type, and what you were doing; this is more useful than simply saying the connection was slow.

How should I choose between IEPL dedicated, relay, and direct routes?

Start with what you need to access, then consider the region and route. Direct routes take a more straightforward path, but performance depends on your local connection and international links. Relay routes pass through an intermediate server, so results depend on each segment of the path. IEPL dedicated routes use a different network arrangement and should still be tested with your intended service. VPNNeed covers 100+ countries and 230+ routes; check your account's route list for current availability. Don't judge speed by distance or route name alone. Compare how your target site loads, downloads, or responds on your usual device and at your usual times.

Do I need to switch regions often to access AI tools and streaming services?

Frequent region switching isn't a good default troubleshooting step. An AI tool's account rules, login status, and service region may all affect access. If your current exit works, keep your setup consistent and distinguish account issues from connection problems when an error occurs. Streaming catalogs and playback rights are determined by the platform; using a route in the same region doesn't guarantee the same results. Check your account region, current exit, and the platform's message before testing other routes as needed. VPNNeed offers route choices but doesn't replace a platform subscription or guarantee a particular catalog or video quality.

Why are downloads, video calls, or webpages still slow when a speed test looks fine?

Speed tests and real-world apps use different destinations, connection methods, and data, so a test can't represent every use case. Downloads may be limited by the file server or your local disk. Video calls are more sensitive to jitter and packet loss over time, while webpages may need to load resources from multiple domains. Compare routes using the same task and check for other background transfers to see if the issue is specific to one service. Don't focus on speed-test numbers at the expense of how well your actual task works. When contacting support, describe what you were doing and what failed to help identify whether the cause is your local setup, route, or destination service.

For more on routes and protocol trade-offs, read the technical reference. See the global server network for an overview of regions and route types.

Billing & refunds

Check prices, data reset rules, and the refund policy separately. Manage orders through the user dashboard.

How much do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the day your plan starts. Check your account dashboard for remaining data and the reset date; don't assume it resets at the start of the calendar month. Unlimited devices refers to the number of devices that can be connected at once, not unlimited data. Choose a plan based on your usual tasks and usage across all devices, including streaming, file transfers, and ongoing sync. Compare plan details on the plans page, then confirm your order in the dashboard.

What's the difference between a data package and a monthly plan, and which should I choose?

Data packages are ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. They last until the data is used and never expire. Monthly plan data resets each month on the day the plan starts. Consider whether your usage is regular or includes long periods of inactivity, then compare the options against your actual data needs. A data package that never expires doesn't mean a streaming catalog or access rights will stay the same; those are controlled by the destination platform. If you already have a plan and want to add another product, check the dashboard for how it applies to your account. Don't assume how plans combine, which data is used first, or how plan changes work.

Which payment methods are supported, and what happens if I upgrade mid-plan?

Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported. Before paying, confirm the plan, amount, and order status in the user dashboard, then follow the payment instructions on the order page. After paying, return to the dashboard to check the result. Don't create repeated orders just because the page hasn't updated yet. For a mid-plan upgrade, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Confirm the exact result in the dashboard; don't assume this adds bonus data. If you've paid but the status hasn't updated, open a ticket with the relevant order and payment result. Hide unrelated account details before submitting. Never transfer money to a personal payment account outside the order page.

How long is the refund guarantee, and where do I request a refund?

VPNNeed offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user dashboard, open a support ticket with your request, and include the relevant order. See the Terms of Service for the full refund rules. If you're also having connection issues, include the error message and troubleshooting steps, but don't share your password or full subscription link. Follow up in the same ticket to keep replies and information together. The ticket response and account records show the refund status and outcome. Submitting a request doesn't mean the refund has been paid, and processing times aren't guaranteed.
